Saving those who save: physicians.
In April and May 2024, Culture Against Bullets, in collaboration
with the Ukrainian organization "RePower", organized two recovery
programs for combat medics who risk their lives daily on the front
line. A single medic can save up to 150 lives a day working in
extremely difficult conditions, which makes it imperative to take
care of their physical and emotional well-being.
During the program, the doctors received psychological assistance,
participated in cultural exchanges and enjoyed recreational
activities such as massages offered by volunteer therapists from
Jávea, a flamenco show organized by the local "El Duende" in
Valencia, kayak and bicycle rides. In addition, they visited the
Hospital La Marina in Denia, where they shared experiences with
their Spanish colleagues, generating a deeply moving atmosphere.
The generosity of the local volunteers, who prepared meals and
offered constant support, was a fundamental pillar for the success
of this project. After two weeks of recovery, the doctors returned
to Ukraine refreshed and with new energy to continue their important
work.
