Psychological Recovery and Social Leadership Camps for
Adolescents 1:
At Culture Against Bullets, we select teenagers who stand out for
their educational achievements and their commitment to the
well-being of their war-affected communities. We select young people
who live in countries with armed conflicts where their education
suffers severely and those who already contribute with volunteer
work and prepare them to be solidarity leaders.
Through our program, which includes psychological rehabilitation in
Spain, we provide them with knowledge, emotional support and skills
to organize social projects. Our goal is that, upon returning to
their communities, they can act as agents of change and carry out
initiatives to improve the lives of their communities.
In January 2024, 34 Ukrainian teenagers arrived on the sunny shores
of Spain with the goal of regaining their mental health and
developing volunteer skills. For two weeks, they learned how to
create social programs to support their communities. With the
support of our volunteers, they participated in karate classes with
Geovanny Sanchez, visited Valencia, were invited by ISAVAL to a
basketball game, explored the beautiful town of Javea. The Rotary
Club of Jávea financed meals at the CEPT Port de Xábia dining hall.
Michelin-starred chef Borja Susilla, from the restaurant "Tula",
organized a Spanish cooking workshop for the young people. The
cultural exchange was fundamental, as they shared experiences and
future dreams with students from two local educational institutions.
